A Message for the Education of the Future
Education teaches us about the world but not how to exist in it. Schools don't teach us to deal with failure, process our feelings, or collaborate through conflict. This blog explores the "invisible curriculum", the emotional knowledge we need but aren't taught, and why education should prepare whole human beings, not just workers.

The Cost of Caring: Why Youth Burnout Is a Global Issue
Young people are exhausted from caring about a world in crisis. We're told we're "the future" who will fix everything, but we lack the power to actually do it. This blog explores why burnout isn't personal failure but it's what happens when you carry global problems alone, and what collective care could look like instead.

Youth movements as a unique form of resistance
In this month's learning invitation, we want to take the time to look at a few unifying elements across youth movements in an effort to learn from collective youth-led power and what sustains this transformative work over time. We truly believe that by studying the power and sacredness of youth movements as a distinct form of resistance, we can identify what young people have learnt through practice. They offer us the gift of learning from their immensely brave experiences.

“Rest Is Not a Glitch”: Youth Burnout and the Myth of Constant Productivity
Youth are told to keep going, keep posting, keep producing. This piece challenges that cycle. It explores how hustle culture and digital pressure fuel burnout, and why rest—especially for young activists and creators—is not a break from progress but a vital part of it.

Fighting For Our Tomorrow
I am Sushobhan Chimoriya, currently part of the YxY Weavership programme. A significant portion of what happened on September 8 was documented by a fellow young Nepali who chooses not to be credited. On the day itself, many people began sharing their experiences, both being on the ground and witnessing the events. Faced with threats of internet shutdowns, we started collecting every account we could, sharing them with Nepalis abroad, international friends, and relevant agencies and organisations

Young, Lonely, and Filling the Silence
As loneliness reaches record highs and real mental health care becomes harder to access, many young people are turning to AI chatbots for warmth and connection. Always available, never judgmental, these bots can feel like a safe haven—but at what cost? This article explores the rise of digital companionship, the emotional risks of relying on AI for comfort, and what it means for a generation growing up more connected to screens than to people.

Gender Inequality in Kyrgyzstan: Ala Kachuu and the Cycle of Kelinism
In Kyrgyzstan, a practice of bride kidnapping quietly destroys countless women’s lives– all disguised as tradition. Once taken, many girls become kelins — young daughters-in-law — embedded in a patriarchal household that demands unpaid labor, silence, and submission. She wakes before everyone else, cooks, cleans, and eats last. She is treated less like a family member and more like inherited property. Refusing this role isn’t just frowned upon — it’s dangerous. In some cases, it’s fatal.
